Scots Pine – Part 2

Having brought home my pine and thoroughly enjoyed my Burrs experience, I watched the tree. Taking advice I found a suitable plastic training pot and repotted the tree late March 2012.Photobucket Pictures, Images and PhotosPhotobucket Pictures, Images and PhotosIts a shame I didn’t take any more photographs whilst repotting. However it was around 24degC and a nice breeze. Not great when working with bare roots exposed. Hence the brolly placed overhead. Also its the mud on the camera, not too bad if someone’s helping!Photobucket Pictures, Images and PhotosThe rest of the year was spend taking in how it developed through the growing cycle for the year. Late July I cut the wiring off so that it wasn’t cutting into the branching too much. This is where a newly styled tree looses its shape.Photobucket Pictures, Images and PhotosPhotobucket Pictures, Images and PhotosPhotobucket Pictures, Images and PhotosAs the growing season progressed the candles grew out nicely.Photobucket Pictures, Images and PhotosI took the advice of a club member to try Chicken Poo pellets during the feeding regime for 2012 and I’m pretty certain that they have done the trick. Lots of back buds started to form along most of the branches.

To be continued…
