My humble setup

These are photos of my humble setup. Bench and plinths for some smaller trees. Interrupted by the play shed. The plays shed serves as welcomed shade to some of the deciduous tree pots, during hot days. 20140708-203923-74363837.jpg20140708-203922-74362134.jpg20140708-203920-74360429.jpg

excellent collection, I particularly like your larch aka american tamarack?

It’s a larch… Collected last year. So I’ve left it to build strength. It’s looking a bit straggly…
I’ll be looking to remove some branches and tidy it up over the end of the year. Then look to style 🙂

that is great! I have three larch saplings that are into year 3 now. Was thinking of chopping the crowns to encourage branch and trunk thickening but I think it is a little late in the season now.

I would leave it until Nov or next spring. Depending on where you are globally 😉
The larch here has a 1.5″ trunk. To be fair it grown that much the rots are coming up above soil level, and is now solid in the pot.
